Sometimes I think Csenge is a full-time forager—always on the lookout for rare sounds, shapes, moods and locations, both in the physical world and online. She’s the friend who always recommends a mixtape or a movie, lends you a comic book you’ve never heard of, propagates a rare plant just for you, and stitches your patch onto her coolest pants.
But I believe her never-ending treasure hunt isn’t only external. The intuition, patience, and deep curiosity essential to foraging are just as present in her drawing process. And by drawing, I mean exploring the day, the hour, the mind, of course. I imagine Csenge picking up her pencils like hiking poles, setting off on a journey—not knowing, but rather listening and feeling—letting them guide her across the page.
Don’t get me wrong—this isn’t doodling. It’s a mindful yet instinctive process, whose outcome is a joyfully authentic world: a (lunar? microscopic? underwater?) landscape where I’m happy to follow her anytime. <3
